The Collaboration Project.....at The Brewery Artist Colony
What is the Collaboration Project? Begun in 2006, the Collaboration Project is a twice monthly meeting group I facilitate at the Brewery Artist Colony. It is an effort to bring
together artists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, tech types, promoters, musicians, hucksters,
creative sorts, financiers, and those who just want to do something other than
transmute oxygen. I welcome people to bring projects to work on at my place, or
just yourself and your ideas. Bring an easel and paints, bring a laptop, bring
your plans for an art gallery, bring your web project, bring your ideas for
a marketing company, your nightclub plan, your particle accelerator project,
bring a
guitar, bring a model to photograph, bring a bottle of wine, bring a short film to screen, bring your
business plan for a laundromat, bring your
Halloween costume idea, bring that script you can't figure out how to finish,
bring that end table you need help finishing....whatever.
We had a very successful run in 2007, with large groups of people showing up and creating some great partnerships and collaborations. Unfortunately, the time constraints grew too much for me, and I had to put it all on hiatus near the end of the year. But by popular demand, I'm bringing it back starting Tuesday, April 15th. After that, the Project will be held every first and third Tuesday of the month for as long as I can manage. I am going to do my best
to continue to facilitate and improve these events.
And, like
any good collaboration, I welcome suggestions to improve it.
Who is welcome? Anyone and everyone with an idea, or the desire to join up with others and make some good ideas a reality.
Where is it? Kevin's loft at The Brewery Artist Colony. 670 Moulton Ave #9, Los Angeles 90031. We are located in the long, green metal building, just inside the last gate on the left on Moulton Ave.
When is it? The Collaboration Project will be held every first and third Tuesday of the month, from 7:30 PM- 11:30 PM. It really isn't the time of event to show up fashionably late to, as people usually start forming into groups pretty quick. That said, if you are running late, don't worry, I try my best to get everyone integrated and matched up with people that might have common interests.
What should I bring? Yourself. Your ideas. A snack item, a bottle of wine or some other beverage of choice is always nice. I'll have a coffee pot going, but anything else needs to be brought by the participants. Feel free to bring your friends as well. The event is open to everyone. Don't worry, I have a big place, there will be plenty of room.
Upcoming nights:
April 15, May 6, May 20, June 3, June 17, July 1, July 15
